Today I discovered a new security "feature" in windows that I thought everyone should know about. If you ever transfer files over the network to your computer, and then try to run them, read on! This tip may save you lots of wasted troubleshooting time! Today I downloaded a software update file to one of the servers in my care. I then copied that file to another server on the same network, and tried to run it. Here is what I saw:
To get around this, you have to right-click on the file and choose properties. In the general tab, you will see something new at the bottom. Click the Unblock button:
