In just a few days we'll experience something that, unlike the mystic Y2K, could actually affect your computers.  The changes made to the Daylight Savings Time system could cause major problems with your company's computers, depending on what applications you use.

All Microsoft operating systems need to be patched, some automatic and some manually.  But, that's not all.  Do you use Outlook for email or scheduling?  That'll need to be patched, too.

Check out the rest of this article for more details, and to see what you need to do before March 11th!

Does your company have a KRIS Managed Services contract with SomethingCool.com?  If so - don't worry, we've already got you covered.  It's all just another part of your maitenance agreement!

We're back with an Oomph!
Written by Tim
Tuesday, 30 January 2007

Hello all-

Some of you may have noticed a brief outage---  that is because we upgraded our server.  It now has two hard drives that work in sync, so if one dies, the other takes over.  Then we can have the dead hard drive replaced.  This means your data is safe on our server.  This is in addition to an offsite network backup already in place.  Downtime is not something we tolerate.

What about the Oomph?  Here's some geek speak:

The server also has been upgraded from an AMD64 3200+ 1 GB ram, 80 GB HDD to a server with Dual Core Xeon "Dempsey" with 2 GB of RAM and hardware RAID1 120 GB HDD.

All in the name of progress and enhancements of our offerings to YOU!

When time permits, I will share with you all the cool security and peace-of-mind features of the facility the server is housed in with big fat data pipelines and redundant power systems....
